The Biker

THE BIKER is one of my latest short stories and has been released on Kindle. It is part of my experiment to see how well ebooks sell on Kindle, and whether it will be worthwhile going down that route for future publishing needs. THE BIKER has been written as a heartwarming story that examines the relationship between a widowed mother and son. The husband was killed on a motorcycle when the son was only five years old. The son is now seventeen and has developed a sudden interest in motorcycles. Although I've been published since 1994 in the UK, Kindle is predominatly aimed at the US market where I am unknown so it will be interesting to see what the reaction will be. Publishing on Kindle is very easy, in fact it is perhaps too easy. People really should take care that their work is absolutely top-notch. The way to publish is as follows: 1. Sign in up to an ordinary Amazon account then enter the Digital Text Platform.
2. Add all the info such as book blurb, and search keywords.
3. Upload your document. There is help on the forums at the site if you have trouble.
4. Enter the price. If you're not sure what to charge, check other author’s pricing structures, and use that as a guide.
5. If you are a non US citizen you will have to accept payment by cheque. There is currently no way to access PayPal, so forget it. The book will be for sale on the Kindle Store within 48 hours. It really is simple. |
