Wasp control for swimming pools

Do you suffer from wasps buzzing your outdoor swimming pool? Horrid little blighters are wasps - they'll attack for no good reason. I've suffered many years with wasp problems. So have most of my friends. I've purchased all sorts of proprietry devices to trap or deter wasps - none have been effective But fear not. Help is at hand... Simple help... Cheap help. Merely add a few drops of dish-washing liquid to the pool when the pump is OFF - and about 15-30 minutes before bathing. The detergent destroys the surface tension of the water. The result - wasps land on the surface but cannot take off, they drown in your pool - most float on the surface - and all you need to do is skim them to the side of the pool, and tread on any still living. If the pump is ON, or when you start swimming, the dish-washing liquid is dispelled and loses its ability to drown the wasps. Two years ago, we killed 150 wasps a day at the height of the season. It must have depleted the nests, because since then we've had little problem - maybe killing 25 a day. Only use a FEW sparse drops of liquid - it will still work. Too much may effect the pool quality - wouldn't want you swimming in foam after all. |
